Get To Know: Four Russian Women Writers
The recent outburst of Russian literature with an upsurge in women writers have greatly inspired me and I thought I’d start posting on this region firstly. So, in the next few posts, I’d be reflecting upon my reading quest for those women writers who’ve been subverting the established discourses— reflecting upon them (female- self) and the landscape yet clutching onto their ancestral fervour to write and be heard. They’ve been touching upon traditional women’s struggles and sufferings which would’ve been critiqued and sneered as immoral, some decades back. These writers probe into their roots whilst exploring new themes, filling up the muffled gaps.
I’d like you to be a part of my reading journey and get to know along with me the women writers who’ve been silently transfiguring their areas of interest.
